Hi Charles,
The article mentioned natural gas several times. But of course you know that that means fracking. And while natural gas may burn cleaner than oil, it’s entire life cycle is very carbon intensive and polluting. Despite Obama coming out now as a big supporter of fracking, there will be substantial paralyzing opposition. Really scary is that Obama seems to have a habit of promoting the scariest technologies, like off-shore drilling and nukes, right before they blow up in his face — and all of ours too.
I read an article way back in 2000 by a geologist Walter Youngquist that opened my eyes about the alternative energy situation. (http://www.oilcrisis.com/youngquist/altenergy.htm) It will never replace oil and its versatility and ease of use. Which means we will simply have to adjust our lifestyles one way or the other.
Anyway, keep up the great work,
David
