It's great to see people working on serious alternatives to cap-and-trade.
It's seems hard to get people interested. I just introduced a topic of carbon tax-and-dividend in the American Politics forum on Orkut (Google login req.).
 http://www.orkut.com/Main#CommMsgs.aspx?cmm=5304&tid=5276475839781172165
I was surprised to find almost no serious objection (aside from warming deniers and Libertarians); but also little interest.
Best of luck to all involved in the briefing, I'll be watching for reaction and results.

I was looking for something in the "news" (??) about the meeting. Nothing I could find. (Didn't look all that hard, though.) So I read the WSJ opinion essay on the CTC front page. The first line begins, "Liberal interest groups, think tanks, lobbyists, bloggers and other nuisances…" and further along, the pH of that vitriol decreases even more! Gee, when I was young I would get my mouth washed out with soap for just saying things like that! The essay goes on to praise the Carbon Tax as a least-worst way to achieve a worthless end.

As a quality paper, the WSJ has gone so far south they must have gauchos doing the proofreading. Should the CTC link to such venal, spiteful drivel?

I do appreciate the links. Including links to essays expressing points of view that are not necessarily in concordance with the CTC's.
