Columnists free from reelection fears might feel like raising other taxes to fill in the slack. Were this to be enacted, and then Global Warming were found to be a problem, implementation of revenue-neutral carbon taxes would still be a wise idea. Even though Halloween is just around the corner, let's not get spooked. Let’s pretend that there were no Global Warming fears, and politicos were just worried about AMT.
